I’m so excited to finally be done with winter quarter!  I’m headed to Florida with my family tomorrow for a much-needed vacation.  Here are some of my spring break must-haves, and they’re all from Target!

Also known as: things I can’t live without right now.

Old Navy Vintage V-Neck Tee // I bought one of these tees online on a whim to get free shipping, and I couldn’t be more in love with it.  It’s soft, the sleeves are long and cozy, and it is thin enough to be layered under a sweater but thick enough to wear on its own.  The tee is perfect for those days when I don’t want to change out of pajamas for class… it’s so comfy!

Old Navy Frost-Free Vest // In case you haven’t heard, it’s really really really cold in Chicago right now.  So I’m cold all the time, even indoors.  I wear this vest around the house and in class: it keeps me warm but isn’t too bulky.  I even layer it under my big winter coat when I go outside.  I told you it was REALLY cold!

Make Up For Ever Aqua Shadow in 28E // I use this product almost every day.  It’s a perfect light rose gold/beige/taupe that makes my eyes pop without looking too over-the-top.  It’s a crayon, so it’s super easy to apply, too!

Maybelline Master Precise Eye Liner // This is my absolute favorite eye liner.  It makes super thin lines, so it’s easy to use even if you struggle with liquid liner (like me!)

Maybelline Baby Lips Dr. Rescue in Berry Soft // In winter, lip balm is a necessity.  My lips get soooo dry all the time, and this balm is my favorite for keeping them soft.  It has a little bit of color, but nothing too bold.

Essie Nail Polish in After School Boy Blazer // I’ve been loving navy lately, and this polish is sophisticated and pretty.  I like to wear it with a rose gold glitter accent nail if I’m feeling motivated.

Notebooks // I’m still obsessed with Target Greenroom notebooks.  They withstand my other office supply obsession: flare pens.  Greenroom paper is thick and sturdy, so the pens only bleed through the paper a little bit.  And they’re cute, too!  Check out how I use my notebooks here.

Coffee // It’s getting to that point in the quarter where my planner is starting to resemble a novel.  Coffee (hot or iced, I don’t judge) is always a must-have.

What are some of YOUR winter necessities?

I haven’t been to American Eagle Outfitters in years, but a store just opened in my local mall, so I decided to stop in and check it out.

Anyone who knows me well knows that I don’t like really like wearing jeans.  It’s hard for me to find jeans that I like… I’m super picky!  I’ve always liked how AE jeans fit me, and how they always stock jeans in “short” sizes.

Today, I instantly fell in love with AE’s Knit Jeggings. The entire store was 40% off, so I figured, why not treat myself to something I need? These pants are the perfect mix of jeans and leggings without looking too much like the “jeggings” we all like to make fun of.  They are thicker than leggings, they look like regular knit pants, and they are SO comfy.  I got a dark grey pair, and don’t be surprised if I go back and get another pair in another color.

I loved how the jeggings fit me, and I can’t wait to wear them! AE has lots of cute items for the holidays in pretty jewel tones and sparkly metallics. If you haven’t been in a while, go check it out!  This post isn’t sponsored… I just want to rave about my new pants!

Falling for Fall Fashion: Neutrals

Let’s face it: when you’re crunched for time and exhausted in the morning, the last thing you want to do is use your energy creating a cute outfit.  The solution?  Neutrals!  Because they always match!  It’s so easy to look polished and pretty with an all-neutral look.  Here’s one of my staples outfits.

J.Crew City Mini // anyone who know me knows that the city mini is my go-to skirt.  I have one in black and one in green plaid, and I wear them all the time.  They’re cute, comfortable, easy to tuck shirts into, and they even have pockets!  J.Crew, unfortunately, didn’t release any new city minis this season.  😦

White long-sleeved shirt // I like the Bowery Supersoft V-Neck from Gap.

Black ballet flats // Mine are from Target.

Tortoiseshell hair clip // These J.Crew ones are expensive, but unbreakable.

Nude skinny belt // This one is reversible!

Gold chain link necklace // Another from Target!

What is your staple outfit when you have no idea what to wear?

The time between seasons can be tricky when it comes to fashion.  The weather can be unpredictable, especially in Chicago.  Here is one of my go-to outfits for transitioning from summer to fall.  Switch the shorts for a pair of jeans and you’ve got a perfect autumn outfit, too!

Here are my favorite items for Fall!

Periwinkle Bag // I picked up this faux leather bag for a steal at Forever 21.  It converts from a handbag to a cross-body bag.

Navy Dotted Skirt // This cute skirt sits at the waist and looks very vintage-y.  It’s great for all seasons.  The one pictured is from ModCloth, but I got mine from J.Crew (it’s out of stock now… boo) for a great price.  Psssst… everything is 40% off in stores (as of August 2)!  Add that to the 15% student discount, and this skirt was a great buy.

Kate Spade Jewelry // These idiom bracelets are so cute and quirky.  And you all know how much I love the rose gold bow ring.

FACE Stockholm Hot Pink Lipstick // I don’t do bright lipsticks.  They scare me.  But this peony pink color is so pretty that I might have to make an exception.  Or just apply it lightly and seal it with lip balm as a stain.

Etta Pump // When I first saw the J.Crew Etta pumps, I wasn’t sure I liked the heel.  But now I’m obsessed.  They’re so classic yet modern… and sturdy!

Bright Blouse // Sleeveless blouses are so versatile: they’re comfortable, perfect for layering, and can add a pop of color to basic jeans or leggings.

Emerald Everything // I’m obsessed with the Color of the Year.  It looks great on all skin tones, and it can even act as a neutral base for other colors.

Every once in a while, I get bored and play around with Polyvore, just picking and choosing things that I like to make a collage.  I rarely actually post these collages, but this one turned out nicely and sums up what I’ve been into lately.  Very vintage, very French, and very pretty.

Le Petit Prince // A book that I was forced to read in 11th grade French class… it was a challenge to read and I didn’t get the message from it as I was reading it, but the ending made me understand it all.  This is a spectacular book for children and adults.

Vintage posters // These zoology and fashion posters are so detailed and elegant.

Accessories // In tortoiseshell and rose gold, plus those amazing Mary Jane heels.

Home // Jadeite and milk glass will always be my favorites, plus pretty apothecary jars, fun garland, white hydrangeas, bold trellis prints, and cursive-print fabric.

What inspires YOU?

1. J. Crew City Mini.  These skirts are so comfortable and versatile, and they look absolutely adorable!  J. Crew makes them in new colors and fabrics every season.
2. H&M Jersey Tank Dress.  A wardrobe staple, this dress can be styled for work with some tights and a cardigan, or dressed down with heels for going out.
3. Black Lululemon Leggings.  These are so comfortable, and they’re thick enough to wear as pants.  Because anyone who doesn’t believe leggings are pants doesn’t have the right leggings.
4. Black Ballet Flats.  Simple, black flats will never go out of style, and you can wear them with anything!
5. Chambray Shirt.  These tops are so versatile: wear one with leggings, or throw on an unbuttoned one over a dress.

What are your wardrobe staples?
