About

Hi!  I’m Courtney.

me1

I’m a rising junior at Northwestern University studying speech-language pathology.  I like to dance, run, and swim.  I enjoy photobombing photos, laughing, and making Grumpy cat faces. I believe everything is better with chocolate.  Preferably dark chocolate. I adore J.Crew, prints, big tote bags, and jewel tones. I have the sleep schedule of an elderly person. I keep a meticulous planner. I think I’m the luckiest girl in the world.

  1. This is great! Keep it up girl. And amen to peanut butter and chocolate.

  2. So random, but two of my toes are stuck together too! Apparently it’s genetic…check your parents. :P

    • Ahaha at least I’m not the only one :) both my parents have regular toes, but I look nothing like them anyway so I guess it skips a generation! :D Thanks for commenting!

Hello fellow senior runner :) We have mucho similar times haha

I also like passing men during races :D

I look forward to reading your bloggy blog

  4. Hey girl! I love your blog. I’m a year older, but we’re ridiculously similar. I’ve been healthy and active my whole life, and have run track and cross country. Last spring I even ran a marathon (and took first in my age group!) I’m studying to become an RD, so I figured I was in great health. But I totally thought wrong.
In June I noticed I was feeling super fatigued on all my runs, but my breathing wasn’t labored at all. After cutting down my milage, getting more rest, and making sure my eating was “clean”, nothing changed. Finally, I started wearing my heart rate strap with my Garmin, and I discovered that my average heart rate was around 197 when I ran. No matter the distance or the pace.
Fast forward to millions of tests/ekgs/chest x-rays/multiple doctors, I was diagnosed with organic tachycardia of unknown origin. I had to drop out of training for the Nike Women’s marathon, and I can’t remember the last “good run” I had.

I’d love to talk to you more about how you deal with your heart problems mentally/physically. Email me!

    • Wow, we are ridiculously similar!! Creeeeeeepy… my heart rate hit near-200 bpm when I ran, too. Thank you so much for reading, and I have a feeling we will have a lot to talk about :) Unfortunately wordpress doesn’t show me your email address, so you email me first [ runningfromtheheart@gmail.com ] and I will respond. =D

  5. Oh Titanic makes me emotional too!
I loved reading your about me :)
    Mascaras I love:

(if it doesn’t show up)- L’oreal Clean Definition Telescopic. Thick and dark without getting chunky. It is my absolute favorite. On the website it is just over $10 (oh no!) but at the store I got it at it was under $10.

My second favorite (I’m really picky) would have to be Covergirl’s Lash Blast Length mascara. It goes on smooth and shows up lighter than the Telescopic mascara. But it is buildable. The brush is really lightweight too. I think it was about $7.

For me, the Covergirl is good for every day wear and looks more natural. The other is better for nights out or special occasions! xo

  6. Hooray for senior year of high school! I hope you enjoy every minute of it! :) Your blog is super cute and I’m looking forward to reading more. :)

  9. Thanks for coming by my blog…are you from Colorado? I just saw this random old post of your featuring a recipe from the cookbook, Creme de Colorado, so I was wondering. I have all of those Junior League of Denver cookbooks! I am born and raised in Denver and literally just moved to southern California last week!

    • No problem! :D And no, I’m not from CO and I’m not sure how my mom got that cookbook, but she was in Junior League here in IL so maybe they sent her one?

  10. I wish I could see this fancy google calendar. Also, I think every corporate office should let their employees wear yoga pants…everyday.

  11. I’m with ya on the “browsing J.Crew stuff I can’t afford.” Hear, hear!
